Intrecci: sguardi sul mondo n. 11
- Firenze, Europa, MondoŠ (Florence, Europe, World...)
Firenze, città di Dante e Michelangelo, culla del Rinascimento e della
moderna società mercantile, ha accolto dal 6 al 10 novembre oltre
60.000 partecipanti al 1° Forum Sociale Europeo.
Provenienti da oltre 100 paesi, si sono confrontati in affollati
seminari, dibattiti e assemblee, per iniziare a costruire un¹Europa
nuova, sociale e consapevole: non fortezza assediata, ma crocevia di
scambi, ponte verso popoli e culture.
In questa puntata di Intrecci si vuole gettare un primo sguardo
sui problemi ed i temi affrontati a Firenze - i giovani, l¹Europa, la
pace e la guerra - cercando di restituire immagini e suoni, volti e
parole, per chi c¹era e per chi non ha potuto esserci.
Una cronaca di quattro giorni indimenticabili, dall¹apertura in Piazza
Santa Croce all¹interminabile corteo di sabato 9 novembre, alla ricerca
di un altro mondo, non solo possibile ma necessario.
Intrecci
è il magazine televisivo mensile sui problemi dello sviluppo,
distribuito a partire dal gennaio 2000 da ADN Kronos ad un circuito di
100 televisioni locali.
I temi affrontati nelle 33 puntate - tutte disponibili in videocassetta
- sono stati:
- nel 2000: Rifugiati, Globalizzazione, Debito, Diritti umani, Flussi
migratori, Bambini, Emergenze umanitarie, Ambiente e sviluppo, Donne
rurali, L'altra Africa, Pechino +5;
- nel 2001: "In cammino", "Solidarietà a distanza",
"Acqua", "Un altro mondo è possibile?",
"Cioccolato e caffé", "Popoli indigeni",
"Donne e azioni positive", "A Genova!", "Contro
il razzismo", "Tra pace e guerra", "Schiavitù
vecchie e nuove";
- nel 2002: "Informazione e sviluppo², "Lontano da
casa", ³Voci da Porto Alegre², "AIDS in Africa", ³Dalla
strada alla scuola², ³Amazzonia!², ³Donne e ambiente², ³Sovranità
alimentare², ³Contadini senza terra² ³Italia e America².
Intrecci
è il primo tentativo organico in Italia di dare voce e volti alla
quotidianità del sud del mondo, cercando punti di contatto con la
nostra realtà; per allargare i nostri "sguardi" su un mondo
sempre più interdipendente, e offrire temi di discussione sui grandi
problemi, ancora irrisolti del nostro tempo.
La 11° puntata di 'Intrecci' - così come le precedenti - si può
vedere in rete (RealPlayer) con link diretto dal nostro sito.
Presentato in studio da Hermana Mandelli, è realizzato dalla
Associazione URIHI e curato da Giovanna Cossia e Marco De Poli.
E' promosso da un consorzio di 15 organizzazioni di solidarietà
internazionale senza fini di lucro, che per questa iniziativa fa capo al
GRT; e si avvale del sostegno della Direzione Generale per la
Cooperazione allo Sviluppo del Ministero degli Esteri.

Intrecci: sguardi sul mondo no. 11 - Florence, Europe, World...
Firenze, the city of Dante and Michelangelo, the cradle of
Renaissance and of the modern merchant-society, has welcome from the 6th
to the 10th of November more than 60,000 participants in the 1st
European Social Forum.
They have come from a hundred countries and have confronted each other
at meetings and debates, just to begin to lay the foundation of a new
Europe, more social and aware; not a besieged fortress, but a crossroads
of exchanges, a bridge towards peoples and cultures.
In this episode of Intrecci we want to give a look onto the problems and
the themes faced in the Forum - the young, Europe, peace and war - and
try to represent images and sounds, faces and words, for those who were
present at it and those who were not there.
A chronicle of four unforgettable days, from the opening in Piazza Santa
Croce to the endless parade of Saturday November the 9th, all of
us looking for a different world, non only a possible world, but a
necessary one.
Intrecci (Knots: glimpses on the world)
is the title of a monthly TV magazine on development issues,
distributed by ADN Kronos to some 100 local TV networks.
In 2000 cycle we have faced themes such as refugees, globalization, debt,
human rights, migration flows, children, humanitarian emergencies,
environment and development, rural women, "a different side"
of Africa, Pekin+5 (women's condition 5 years after U.N. World
Conference), all available in videocassettes.
In 2001 themes such as "Migrants", "Distance solidarity",
"Water", "Is another world possible?", "Chocolate
and coffee", "Indigenous people", "Women and
positive actions", "In Genoa!", ³Against racism², ³Between
peace and war², ³Old and new slavery².
In 2002 ³Information and development², ³Far from home², "Voices
from Porto Alegre", "AIDS in Africa", "From the
street to school", "Amazon!, "Women and environment",
"Food sovereignty" and "Italy-America".
Intrecci
is the first attempt in Italy to show the everyday life of the South
of the world and to find points of contact with our reality, also
through the work of the volunteers and the international solidarity.
The spectators have the possibility to make suggestions and proposals
and this will help to broaden our glances out onto a world which is more
and more interdependent. They will also be offered the opportunity to
discuss problems still unsolved.
